North American Commercial property owners to reduce electric vehicle charging station installation costs with new Bosch Power Xpress Dual Bollard

  • The Power Xpress Dual Bollard features two 25-foot cables to maximize space and provide extended reach for electric vehicle (EV) drivers
  • Galvanized steel bollard, durable plastic cover and NEMA 4X-rated charging station offers extreme weather protection and may eliminate the need for additional protectivebarriers
  • Power Xpress Dual Bollard selected as the required charging station for North American Audi dealers selling the A3 e-Tron

Bosch today announced the Power Xpress Dual Bollard 240V charging station in North America. The Dual Bollard comprises two 32A, 240V Power Xpress charging stations enclosed in a galvanized steel bollard for protection against extreme weather and incidental damage. Each station is equipped with a 25-foot charging cable. It was developed in partnership with Audi in conjunction with the launch of the Audi A3 e-Tron EV. Audi dealers have purchased more than 300 Power Xpress Dual Bollard units across the United States and Canada.

The Power Xpress charging stations within the Dual Bollard are NEMA 4X rated, offering protection from rain, sleet, snow, hail, ice and extreme heat. Each unit’s amperage is individually adjustable from 12 to 32 amps, allowing for flexibility and cost savings when offering public charging.

Installing a Dual Bollard can save commercial customers money in construction and electrical costs, requiring conduit and power lines to be run to only one location for two stations. Infrastructure upgrades are also easier with less concrete and parking lot demolition and construction needed for a single stand than with two separate stations.

Bosch is currently the preferred charging infrastructure provider for several OEMs in North America, providing charging stations and turnkey installation services with a nationwide network of Bosch Certified Electrical Contractors.
