Q: How do I know the Power Max is charging my EV?
A: The LED indicator light will flash green to let you know your EV is charging. When charging is complete, the light will be solid green.

Q: Can I plug the Bosch Power Max into the wall?
A: No. the Bosch Power Max is a hardwired unit only. Modifying the charging station to plug the unit into a wall outlet will void your warranty. However, the Power Xpress offers a plug-in option.

Q: Are Bosch charging stations compatible with all EVs?
A: Yes. All of our charging stations use the industry-standard SAE J1772 coupler. Tesla vehicles are the only EVs to require a different coupler, but they come with a J1772 adapter.

Q: What is the warranty on electric vehicle charging stations?
A: There is a one year warranty on all Bosch Level 2 charging stations. Bosch charging stations are warranted against defects in materials and workmanship. Product specific warranty information is available in the “installation instructions” PDF on each product page.

Q: What is the average electric vehicle charging station cord length?
A: Most charging stations have cord lengths between 16-18 ft, but we offer charging stations with cord lengths from 12-25 ft. 25 ft. is the longest available cord length while still maintaining industry safety standards.

Q: How long will it take to fully charge with a 240V EV charging station?
A: Charging time varies from vehicle to vehicle. Depending on your EV, Bosch Level 2 charging can charge your EV up to 5 times faster than the included 110-volt cordset.

Q: How long does it take to receive my EV charging station?
A: Most customers receive their units within 7 business days from the time an order is confirmed. Overnight and second day shipping is available upon special request. Standard UPS Ground shipping is typically 5-7 days.

Q: Can an EV charging station be plugged into a dryer receptacle?
A: This depends on your home’s unique electrical configurations and power supply. All EV charging stations must be on a dedicated circuit. An existing dryer plug may not provide enough voltage or have the correct NEMA outlet or the correct gauge of wiring for the required installation. Furthermore, local electrical code may prevent such an installation. Note: The Bosch Power Max cannot be plugged into an outlet. Modifying the station to plug in will void the manufacturer’s warranty. The Power Xpress can be ordered with a plug-in option.

Q: Does Bosch offer installation services for my charging station?
A: No, Bosch does not offer installation services for electric vehicle supply equipment or electric vehicle charging stations. We do maintain a list of electricians with experience in installing charging stations, available here, for you to select the best option for your needs.
